Activity Report – June 2013

Summary

As has become a regular refrain, June was a pretty quiet month, with poor band conditions preventing more activity.

The highlight of the month was the WAB AGM where I managed to combine the meeting with some radio activity.

Flora/Fauna

Four GFFs have been activated during June.

  • GFF-058 (Chiltern AoNB) – 42 QSOs, in poor conditions, plus some WAB activity
  • GFF-148 (The Wash) – 127 QSOs, either side of the WAB AGM.
  • GFF-248 (Cotswolds AoNB) – GFF-qualifying WAB activity
  • GFF-265 (North Wessex Downs AoNB) – GFF-qualifying WAB activity

Conditions have prevented local activity, but I’m planning to make regular, but short, visits to the local GFF121, GFF-207 and GFF-273 over the coming months, in addition to any other main activity.

NATS and BARLS

At varying times, the activity in-and-around GFF-148 was valid for the following:

  • BARLS and NATS:
    • A2383X
    • A2385X
  • NATS only
    • A2384.5
    • A2387.2
    • A2387.6

Worked All Britain (40m only)

While my activity in April was limited to to three runs, I activated 65 small squares, of which 44 were new for 2013, including 32 all-time “New Ones”.  This gives an accumulated 228 squares activated for 2013 so far (and nudging forward to 446 “all time”).

For the 2013 Calendar Award, all six months have successfully achieved quorum – and the award of the Bronze Certificate.

Unfortunately, the poor band conditions resulted in other trips being radio-free; however progress continues on each of the main awards:
